She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Seruby and Isabel Seruby; her former husband John S. Alves; and her sister Marcia Sorey (Marvin A. Sampson, Sr.). She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Alves of Henrico, VA, Sheila Alves of Midlothian, VA and Sydney Alves-Smith (Stacy Smith); her grandchildren, Cameron and Camille Smith; her daughter Sakeb Nazim; and her siblings, Earlene Seruby of Rio Vista, CA, Cheryl Seruby (Maxine) of Rio Vista, CA and Earl Seruby (Roberta). She is also survived by her nephew, nieces and numerous cousins.
