With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sam Bossieux Shepard of Midlothian, Virginia, born in Farmville, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 7, 2026 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Wallace Shepard and Jo Goodman Shepard. He is survived by: his wife Betty Bruce Shepard; his children, Temple Gracza (John) and Bruce Goodman Shepard (Christine); his grandchildren, Paige (Zach), Sammy, Emma Kate (JD), Maggie (Max) and Landon; his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Blaire; his brother Van Shepard (Agnes); his brother-in-law Rowlett Bruce (Ree); and his great-granddog Moose. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Woody Funeral Home (1020 Huguenot Rd, Midlothian, VA 23113). The inurnment will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery (2160 Ca Ira Rd, Cumberland, VA 23040).
