With sadness, we share the passing of Michele Lynn Hammerle of Milford, Virginia. Michele, born on September 18, 1972, passed away on September 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her close friend Charlene Bass; her cousin Eric Smith; and her grandmother Pearlie Bryan. She is survived by: her parents, Grace Ann Bowen and Walter "Rusty" Foster; her husband Derek Andrew Hammerle; her children, Joshua Stephen Jones, Christian Michael Jones and Julianne Hammerle; her grandchildren, Paisley, Quinn and Jhett; her sisters, Laci Nicholas and Leigh Ann Grim; her nieces, Hope, Aleigh and Lala; her nephew Bradley; and her pets, Dax and Wall-E.. She is also survived by her extended family; and the many friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Pitt's Pond (14318 Devils Three Jump Rd, Milford, VA 22514).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Shenandoah National Park Trust (snptrust.org) or the Gastric Cancer Foundation (gastriccancer.org), two organizations whose missions reflect meaningful parts of Michele's life, her love of the outdoors, and the journey she and her family faced together.
