He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Ella; his parents, Denny VandeLinde and Mable Mae VandeLinde; and his brother Denny M. VandeLinde. He is survived by: his sons, Terry VandeLinde (Jeanie) and Marty VandeLinde (Tammy); his grandchildren, Chris VandeLinde (Nicole), Ryan VandeLinde (Erin), Erin Stover (Brent), Sean VandeLinde (KaewKlao "Noi"), Nikole Hedges (James), Alyssa Hatfield, Landon Hatfield, Brittany Darnell (Donnie) and Victor Darnell (Courtney); his great grandchildren, Micah, Morgan, Tate, Josiah, Analise, Finn, Skye and Tyler VandeLinde; and his grandchildren, William, James Stover, Devin, Brennan Hedges, Makenna Valentine and Rowan Hatfield.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Halesford Baptist Church (2485 Lost Mountain Rd, Wirtz, VA 24184). A memorial service was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA, to Gideons International, or to Eastern Dominican Christian Mission.
