With sadness, we share the passing of Helen Frances Wright Harris of Moneta, Virginia. Helen, born on March 10, 1938, passed away on September 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude J. Wright and Gertie Martin Carter; her half-brothers, Claude T. Wright and Michael D. Carter; and her aunts and uncles, Jesse W. and Dollie Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth D. Harris; her daughters, Kimberly H. Blum (Rick), Kendall H. Moyers (Jason) and Krista D. Harris; her grandchildren, Brianna Conley and Jacob Moyers; her half-sister Debra W. Calmes (Jeff); and her sisters-in-law, Toni DeLong and Geri Wright.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Updike Funeral Chapel (1140 W Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM at the Morgans Baptist Church Cemetery (2086 Morgans Church Rd, Bedford, VA 24523).
