He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Grant and Olive E. Grant; his brother Chester Bud Grant; and his grandson Cameron Alexander Wood. He is survived by: his children, Angel Wood (Alex) of Long Island, VA, Christi Godfrey (Robie) of Lynchburg, VA and Duke Grant of Lynchburg, VA; his brothers, Harry Wayne Grant (Madelyn) of Rustburg, VA and Walter Grant (Phyllis) of Gastonia, NC.; his grandchildren, Skyler Anderson (Tyler), Jake Kersey, Mikey Rhodes Grant (Brooke) and Alexis Robertson; his great grandchildren, Isaiah Kersey (Zay), Savannah Anderson, Olivia Anderson and Caiden Anderson; and his close friends, Jerry Doss and Bob Hansen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a broad circle of friends.
