She was predeceased by : her father James R. Fitzgerald; her husband Johnnie Kay Dempsey; her great grandchild Hunter; and her siblings, Wilson, Madeline Groah and Elestine Groah.

She is survived by : her children, Johnnie Ray (Karen), Freddie (Nita), Michael (Pam) and Terri Dempsey; her siblings, Carroll, Cole (Dorothy), Dennis (Linda), Richard Fitzgerald, Mary Tomlin, Elnora Snyder (Marvin), Joyce Best Lemon (Bob) and Jean Tomlin (Lewis); and her brother-in-law Richard Dempsey (Norma). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
