He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Thaxton and Brenda Reynolds Ewers. He is survived by: his sons, Sam Thaxton (Kala) and Todd Thornton; his grandchildren, August, Everett and Talya; and his siblings, Duane Thaxton (Debora) and Rhonda Thaxton Fisher (Edwin). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1140 W Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Bedford, VA 24523). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Updike Funeral Chapel (1140 W Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Bedford, VA 24523).
