He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Amil Leroy and Ethel Nell Kirkland Ervin; and his son Andrew Travis Ervin. He is survived by: his wife Sue Ellen Harman Ervin; his son Shane Ervin (Brandi); his brothers, Howard Dale Ervin and Robert Gene Ervin (Teresa); and his grandchildren, Landon, Adria and Kendall.
