With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rodney Lee Smith of Monroe, Virginia, who passed away on October 5, 2025 at the age of 63. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rodney Lee Smith to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard Smith and Lorene Snipes Rickman; and his siblings, Carl Biggs, Bernice Smith, Janet Strong and Diane Romo.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Bessie Leftwich; his siblings, Lill Stacy, Marie Lester, William Smith, Jr., Wanda Mayo and Harry Smith; and his pets, Roscoe and Little Man. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.
A reception will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Whitten Monelison Chapel (3966 S Amherst Hwy, Madison Heights, VA 24572).
In memory of Rodney and his love for animals, the family asks that donations be made to the Amherst County Animal Shelter.
