With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ezra Gay Halterman of Monterey, Virginia, who passed away on November 16, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Mercer and Effie Annice Halterman (Key); his son Eddie Halterman; and his siblings, Clark, Paul Halterman, Ruth Weaver and Mary Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Halterman (Hiner) of Monterey; his son Danny G. Halterman (Barbara) of Greensboro, NC; and his nephews, Elmer of Monterey and Glen Halterman of Monterey.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Obaugh Funeral Home - Highland County (8739 Highland Turnpike, McDowell, VA 24458). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Obaugh Funeral Home (8739 Highland Turnpike, McDowell, VA 24458).
