She was predeceased by: her husband Garland W. Brooks; and her siblings, Virginia Waldrop, Robert and Joe Apperson. She is survived by: her daughters, Joan Brooks of Glen Allen, DeLaine Burns and Carolyn Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
