He was predeceased by : his father Alexander Mines; his siblings, Walter, Mearl, Junius, Newell, Sarah, William, Lorenzo, Elbert, Ann and Douglas; and his son Dwayne.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his daughters, Sandy King (Tracy) and Angela Shelton; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Courtney Shelton, Corey and Nicholas King; his nephew James "Whistle Pete" Mines; and his cousins, Joseph "Joe" Mines and Ricki King. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
