He was predeceased by: his father Daniel Howard Smith; his brother Roger Allen Smith; his wife Cheryl Diane Lambert; and his sons, Brandon Smith of Richmond and Michael Smith (Leah) of Mt. Crawford.
He is survived by: his mother Emma Lee Switzer of Broadway; his sister Ronda Shifflett (Monte) of Elkton; his parents-in-law, Danny and Joann Lambert of Mt. Crawford; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Lambert (Naomi) of Harrisonburg, David Lambert of Buckingham and April Lambert of Mt. Crawford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
