We announce the death of Sandra Jean Hottel of Mount Crawford, Virginia, who passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 83. Sandra will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Benjamin and Bernice L. Hottel (Riddleberger). She is survived by: her children, Carissa Alexander, Cliff Shiflet and Chris Shiflet (Pam); her siblings, Edwin Hottel (Sue), L. B. Hottel, Jr. (Sandy) and Nancy Fleischman (Julio Trego); her grandchildren, Sydney Shiflet, Bradley Shiflet (Rebecca), Layne Shiflet and Ethan Shiflet; her stepgrandchildren, Cassidy Hensley (Joel), Aaron Dean and Gabrielle Dean; and her close friend Dick Myers. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nephews, and a niece.
