He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James and Flora Bell Emmett (Michael) of Mount Solon; his brother Johnnie E. Emmett; and his sister-in-law Molly Emmett (Howdyshell). He is survived by: his wife Gay Lucille Michael; his brother James R. Emmett, Sr.; his sister-in-law Barbara Emmett (Zimmerman); and his niece Julie Vess. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
