She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Brown LaFon and Edna Josephine Neff LaFon; her husband Noble Hawkins Shell, Jr.; her son Randall W. Lafon; and her sisters, Ilda Ezlee French and Stella Jane LaFon Meadows.
She is survived by: her sons, Richard LaFon (Loretta) of Rich Creek and Lewis LaFon (Tammy) of Radford; her stepchildren, Robert Shell of Houston, TX and Diana S. Phillips of Chicago, IL; her sister Carlene Marshall of Dinwiddie; and her sisters-in-law, Jean Hall of Geronimo, OK and Paula Counts. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Givens - Riffe Funeral Service (600 Main St, Narrows, VA 24124). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (398 Main St, Narrows, VA 24124). A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Birchlawn Burial Park (177 Birchlawn Cir, Pearisburg, VA 24134).
