She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Ceward Wimmer and Ina Clara Warner Wimmer; her former husband Robert Bailey Bowles; her husband Richard Byron Brown; and her brothers, John Wimmer and Calvin Wimmer.
She is survived by: her children, Byron W. Brown of Narrows, Darlene B. Akers (Danny) of Floyd, Marcella Farris of Moneta, Lynne Robertson of Narrows and Gale Wilhelm (Ray) of Vinton; and her siblings, Danny Wimmer of Clarksville, TN, Brenda Hilton of Floyd, Agnes Callahan of Roanoke and Carol White (Tennis) of Whitsett, NC. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
