He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Marshall DeJarnette, Sr. and Sarah Irby DeJarnette; his son Joshua Ryan; and his brothers, LeRoy DeJarnette, George DeJarnette and Ricky DeJarnette.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Cleveland DeJarnette, Jr. of South Boston and Ryan Scott DeJarnette (Caren) of South Boston; his sisters, Barbara Crews (Donne) of Nathalie and Deborah Wright (B. J.) of Nathalie; his sisters-in-law, Velma DeJarnette of Nathalie and Connie DeJarnette of Nathalie; his close friends, Henry Carter, Floyd Short, David Ingram and Curtis; and his pet Sissy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Clover Bottom Baptist Church (7042 Stage Coach Rd, Nathalie, VA 24577).
