He is survived by: his brothers-in-law, Andre "Tony" Lunsford and Gaston "Lake" Hogwood; his cousins, Larry, June, Brett and Robert; his friends, Mosheen and Marty; his wife Vida Denise Joyner (Lunsford); his son Michael Lunsford; his granddaughter Alisha Lunsford; his daughter Nicole Joyner (Charles); his grandchildren, Michael Joyner, Demanto Whitlow and Imesha Whitlow; his son Maurice Joyner; his grandchildren, Morgan Harris, Brandon Joyner, Brooklyn Joyner, Darin Joyner and Desiree Joyner; his daughter Teresa Everett; his grandson Jason Johnson; his daughter Stephanie Joyner (Adonus); his grandchildren, Destini-Liyoni Grant, Daisha Joyner and Devion Joyner; his daughter Desiree Swindell; his grandchildren, Amare Strickland and Dominic Strickland; his son Corey McEachern; and his siblings, Beverly Jones, Myra Joyner, Brenda Hogwood, Christopher Joyner, Michael Powell and Anthony "Tony" Joyner. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
The inurnment was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434). The military honors was held on Friday, May 30th 2025.
