He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernst Lay and Pauline Lay. He is survived by: his wife Lula Mae "Lulabelle"; his daughters, Patty Lay and Beth Campbell; and his grandchild Kylie Campbell.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church (501 Beach Rd, Hampton, VA 23664). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Parklawn Memorial Park (2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, 501 Beach Road, Hampton, VA 23664.
