As Matthew departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Matthew may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Matthew leaves behind.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edward Francis and Georgia Mae Wendle; his sons, Christopher and Edward; his grandchild Aubrey Grace; and his siblings, Jim, David, Christine and Marsha. He was also cherished by family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites anyone desiring to make a memorial tribute to support the recently established Chris Wendle Scholarship administered through Battlefield High School in memory of Matt's son who died in 2020.
