She was predeceased by: her mother Viola Holley; her grandparents, Almeta Cabbagestalk Poole and William Henry Poole; her brothers, Bobby Knox, William Poole, Ellery Poole and Winston Holley; her daughter Sheree Simmons; her granddaughter Sadesha Simmons; and her great grandchild KaTia Simmons.
She is survived by: her husband John Harrington; her children, Jontae Harrington and Nichelle Etute; her children-in-law, Elizabeth Harrington and David Etute; her siblings, Tim Holley, Jackie Edwards and Diane Brooks; and her grandchildren, Salih, Malik, Iesha, Jamila, Jay, Balil, Bandela, Isi, Deangelo, Ehis, Faith, Raleek, Ratasia, Ramir, Racea, Racee, Mya and Mariah. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Granby Chapel (7246 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
