She was predeceased by: her parents, Eunice R. Lewis and Edward L. Lewis, Sr.; and her brother Ronald E. Lewis, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Michael R. Bender; her daughters, Theresa L. Batkin (Kirk), Bettina M. Scarborough (B. R.), Nancy C. Healy (Ronald), Kim Wright and Stephanie Harris; her siblings, Edward L. Lewis, Jr. (Jeanie) and Pamela K. Moore (David); and her grandchildren, Tiffany Fuller (Jesse), Megan Pegram (Lee), Jeffrey Crouch II (Lauren), Brandon Gray-Batkin, Brian Crouch (Maryssa), Lauren Healy, Rhawnie Collins, Jamie Wright, Josh Wright, Crystal Flanagan, Courtney Ryder and Warren Reese. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
