She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas White, Sr. and Pinkey Keeling White; her husband Jesse W. Braithwaite, Sr.; and her children, Deborah Y. Melvin and Kenneth Braithwaite.

She is survived by: her children, Angelus Payne of Norfolk, Regina Braithwaite-Pearson (James) of Norfolk, Jesse Braithwaite, Jr. (Armenta) of Stone Crest, GA., Cornell Braithwaite of Norfolk, VA, Jerome Braithwaite of Norfolk, VA and Johnathan Braithwaite of Norfolk, VA; her sister Dorothy K. Johnson of Winder, GA.; and her godson Marcus Whibee. She is also survived by 4 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
