He was predeceased by: his parents, David Wellington Hardy, Sr. and Lillie V. Hardy; his siblings-in-law, Clarence Smith, Gerald Thomas, Robert and Barbara Tucker; his nephew Elvin Smith; and his niece Sonia Elliott.
He is survived by: his wife Eva Jeanette Hardy; his sons, David Wellington Hardy, III (Terri) and Steven Wellington Hardy; his grandson Devin Wellington Hardy; his sisters, Barbara Bullock (Albert), Beatrice James and Vernelle Hardy; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Thomas, Elaine Carter (Charles) and Emma Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
On Friday, July 3, 2026, David was freed and restored from all suffering associated with Parkinson's disease.
