He is survived by: his wife Melba Peacock Ayres; his daughter Stephanie Mikels (Shane); his grandchildren, Sean Mendoza (Alexis) and Kallista McMahan (Brett); his son Donald "Donnie" Ayres Jr.; his grandchildren, Isabelle Ayres, Ethan Ayres and Lorelei Ayres; his sister-in-law Pat Ayres; Jennifer Boni.
