She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Mae Taylor and Robert Brown; her husband Elveron "Red" Purvis; her son Elveron "Sam" Brown; her siblings, Bernard Brown, Carolyn Ann Brown Corprew and Ella Deloris Brown Gibson; and her grandmother Ella L Hunter.
She is survived by: her siblings, Earl Brown (Percy L. Taylor), Joyce A Williams, Brenda Wallace (Tommy) and Linda Gilmore; and her great-niece Chantell Freeman (AJ). She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grand children, a host of niece, nephews, cousin and friends.
