She is survived by: her children, Brenda Maria and Walter Barnette (Angela); her siblings, Inell Lewis and Eddie Lee Moore (Alice); and her uncle George Simmons. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
