She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Turner and Charlie Warren; her siblings, Iris Short (Lola) of Norfolk, VA, Linda Mapson (Monk) of Norfolk, VA, Brenda Winstead (Heavy) of Norfolk, VA, Constance Williams (Doll) of Austin, TX., James Pinkney (Dick) of Norfolk, VA. and Melvin Pinkney (Cookie); her husband Allan Davis; and her former husband Phyllip Wilson.
She is survived by: her daughter Constance Benson; her granddaughter Diana of Chesapeake, VA; and her sister Barbara Ann Clark of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Essie never complained about having Parkinson's disease, and she did her best to fight off its effects.
