She was predeceased by: her former husband James R. Mitchell, Sr.; and her daughter-in-law Muriel Mitchell. She is survived by: her sons, James R. Mitchell, Jr. and Ronnie Mitchell (Maxine); her grandchildren, James R. Mitchell, III (Twanda), Shanece Tyson (Jessie), Tarsha Mitchell and Tamika Phillips (Robert); and her great grandchildren, Keilah Tyson, A'Naiya Mitchell, Elijah Cherry and Amani Mitchell.
