He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Frederick Arthur and Gertrude Lewis Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Winnie Patterson of Norfolk, VA; his children, Jennifer DeFrain of Newport Beach, CA and Dr Frederick A Patterson; his daughter-in-law Leigh; his grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna of Staten Island, NY; and his pet French.
Fred said he fell in love with Winnie the day he "laid eyes on her" and stayed committed and devoted to her until his last day of life, despite her diagnosis of Alzheimer's over 20 years ago.
