He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Eugene Mathis Sr. and Clydean Mathis Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his daughters, Robin Peskopos, Joyce Rosenbaum (William) and Jennifer Williamson (Michael); and his siblings, Peggy Densmore (Russell), Jimmy Mathis (Doris), Donna Majors (Mark) and George Carpenter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
