She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Wells and Mildred Wells; and her brothers, Wilbert Gillis and Melvin Gillis. She is survived by: her husband James Barnard of Chesapeake; her daughters, Shameaka Barnard of Chesapeake and Tia Cooper (Josh) of Charlotte; her grandson Bryson Barnard; and her siblings, Brenda Dunbar (Richard) of Chesapeake, Ernestine Johnson of Chesapeake, Edward Gillis of Norfolk, Leon Wells of Tennessee and Connell Wells of Norfolk. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
