She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeff Barbour and Sarah "Sadie" Barbour; her husband James D. Brooks; and her stepson Bishop Davis. She is survived by: her siblings, Edna Collins, Emma Owens and Jeff Barbour; and her stepchildren, Benjamin, Sandra, Kristal, Bryant, Brunson, James and Channon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Metropolitan Funeral Service (120 W Berkley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23523). A celebration of life was held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
