He was predeceased by: his parents, James Irl and Laurie Mary Trahan; and his wife Sylvia Marie (Young). He is survived by: his pets, Sydney, Dixie and McDougal; his children, James Wesley Norton of Land and Angela Rene'McMillan (Michael) of Chesapeake, VA; his grandsons, Nathan Norton McMillan and Ryan Hayes McMillan; and his brothers, Charles E. Norton (Joe) and William L. Norton (Karyn). He is also survived by cousins, nephews, and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Navy - Marine Corps Relief Society.
