He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff D. Wheeler and Hilda Ann Wheeler. He is survived by: his close friend Hunter Elizabeth Knoop; his children, Jeffery O'Kane Wheeler (Beth) and Jessica Wheeler Richardson (Dave); his stepchildren, Mary Austin Knoop (Danny), Jackie Knoop Cox (Jacob) and Katie Knoop Nettnin (Jarrett); his grandchildren, Parker Scott Richardson, Amelia Mae Wheeler, Waverly Ann Richardson, Jenny Elizabeth Knoop-Klau, Emilie Reese Knoop-Klau, Hartley Hunter Richardson and Mason Thomas Cox; his brother Patrick Wheeler (Shirley); and his friend Demi Elsasser Wheeler. He is also survived by his family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Scott's name to WHRO Public Media, the Virginia Maritime Association, and the Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital.
