He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harold Tate, Joyce Ann Watkins Swain, Bill Tate and Shirley Ann Cannon; his grandmother Joanna Wells; and his parents, Joe Milton Watkins and Margaret (Johnson).
He is survived by: his wife Ingeborg; his daughter Diana (David Breslin); his grandchildren, Sophia and Sydney; and his siblings, Andrew Tate, Ricky Tate and Edna Waller. He is also survived by his family and friends.
Joe Johnson Watkins, age 82, died March 6, 2024, peacefully in his home with his family by his side after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
