We are sad to announce that on February 16, 2025, at the age of 90, Joseph Julian Gorbea (Norfolk, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Joseph farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joseph is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, José A. Gorbea and Ursula C. Schaffer; and his brothers, Tony and Paul. He is survived by: his siblings, Maria Davidson of Norfolk, Sue Schaffer Dinger of Norfolk and Benjamin of California. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, the Brehon family, his caregivers.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Graves Funeral Home (1631 Church St, Norfolk, VA 23504).
