With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Porter (Norfolk, Virginia), born in Lumberton, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 29, 2025 at the age of 86. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Joseph may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Jannan; and his siblings, Gordon and Betty (Joe). He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane; his children, Jarith Ferris and Joely Porter; and his grandchildren, Kalyx Kram, Kealy Ferris and Robert Ferris.
