With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karsten Z. Baines (Norfolk, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2025 at the age of 53. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Karsten farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Karsten is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his son Karsten Tyshawn Baines (Shawn Jernigan); and his sister Patricia Baines-Johnson. He is survived by: his brothers, Milton Baines, Sr. and Arthur Baines; and his nieces and nephews, Tomeka, Jeaneen, Bethanne Jernigan, Ashley Baines, Travelle McNeil-Baines and Milton Baines Jr.. He is also survived by great nephews and nieces, and other extended family.
