He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Sawyer and Fannie Claiborne Sawyer; his wife Celestine White-Sawyer; and his grandson Lee G. Sawyer. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle; and his grandchildren, Rashawn Emmanuel, Celestine Jacqueline and Diamond LeeShay. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He was a life member of Norfolk State University Athletic Foundation and Booker T. Washington Friends and Alumni Foundation, Inc.
