She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Pittman Hamm Correy and William Albert Hamm; her husband James Henry Thorogood; and her daughters, Sheila Hubbard and Alicia Thorogood.

She is survived by: her sister Josephine Pittman Griffin (Edward Griffin, Sr.); her children, Vernet T. Vaughan, James H. Thorogood, Chwanda L. Clark, Pamela D. Gilliam, Michael G. Thorogood, Patrice Minnie Thorogood and Kelvin A. Thorogood; and her friend LaVerne Carr. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great grand children, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
