She was predeceased by: her parents, Horace Wellington Smith and Catherine Elizabeth Wilkins Smith; her grandparents, Shedrick Turner, Christian Booth Smith, John Edward and Della Jane Pitt Wilkins; her husband Lawrence Ellsworth "Larry" Anderson, Jr.; her daughter Valerie Jane Anderson; and her siblings, Horace W. Smith, Jr., Jean Orion Smith Siler and Shirley Elaine Smith Sharp.
She is survived by: her daughters, Leslie Elaine Anderson of Silver Spring and Norma Jean Anderson of Norfolk, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Austin Leslie Morales and Blair Amanda Morales of Silver Spring. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
