She was predeceased by: her mother Ida Mae Sneed; her husbands, William and Edward Lee Johnson, Sr.; her son Edward Lee Johnson, Jr.; her adoptive parents, William Cuffee and Mary Cuffee; and her brother William Cuffee.
She is survived by: her children, Margaret Sneed Winston (late Matthew) of Virginia Beach, Beverly Johnson Gill (late Robert) of Charlotte, Candace Johnson of Raleigh and Gregory Johnson of Norfolk, Virginia; her sister Jean Cuffee Walden of Chesapeake, Virginia; and her daughter-in-law Marguerite Williams Johnson of Hampton, Virginia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, neighbors, and friends.
