Friend; his son Melvin Friend II; his sisters, Dianna Wise, Marilyn Friend Scott and Melissa Friend Moore (Phillip); his grandchildren, Melissa, Eva and Chase; his siblings-in-law, Vonda Smith and Gordon Wilson (Bernice); his aunts, Thomasina Wise and Willa M. Jones (Thomas); and his nieces, Sonya LaTese Edwards (Ernest), Donnette Daniels and Victoria Scott. He is also survived by four great-nieces; two great-nephews; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, many of which are lifelong friends.
