It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred A. Yancey (Norfolk, Virginia), who passed away on January 14, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gertrude Goodman and Edgar Goodman; her husband Nathaniel Yancey Sr.; and her daughter Linda Diane Daughtery. She is survived by: her sisters, Lessie Pender of Norfolk and Carrie Goodman of Norfolk, Virginia.; her brother-in-law Marshall Yancey of Louisville, Kentucky.; her children, JoAnne Calton (Willie Calton), Patricia Adeniyi (Olayinka), Anita Brown (William), Leon Goodman (Maxine) and Nathaniel Yancey Jr. (Venessa); her grandchildren, Kevin Eugene Goodman of Norfolk, DeLaine Goodman-Richardson (Kelsey) of Norfolk, Toyin Adeniyi of Columbus, Tola Udoh of Newburgh, Taiye Adeniyi of Newburgh, Indiana, Kehinde Adeniyi of Newburgh and Olayinka Adeniyi, Jr. (Biola) of Chicago; her great grandchildren, Brycen Harper and Braylon Harper of Norfolk, VA; and her grandchildren, Addison Udoh, Zara Udoh of Newburgh and Anna Adeniyi of Chicago. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
