We are sad to announce that on April 11, 2024, at the age of 80, Mildred Britt Smith (Norfolk, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Jimmie Britt and Rosa Austin; and her siblings, Bernice Brown, Evelyn Britt, Minnie Keys, Dorothy Santana, Bennie Britt (Bernice), Edward Britt (Pear) and Mother Smith.

She is survived by : her husband Superintendent Joshua Smith, Jr.; her children, Elder Marcus Smith (Catina) and Sis; her grandchildren, Dontreal Smith (Boo-Boo), Alexia Lima, Gabriel Horton, Joshua Horton, Makayla Horton, Bria Horton and Aleena Williams; her great grandchildren, Saniya Horton, Gabriel Horton, Jr., Emmanuel Horton, Leo Lima, Eden Lima and Nyema Lima; and her siblings, Ruby Anderson, Lucille Pendelton, James Britt (Lillie), Helen Smith, Deloris White of High School, Patricia Speller of Teagle and Little. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, her church family.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Graves Funeral Home (1631 Church St, Norfolk, VA 23504). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Prayer Worship Center (1001 Church St, Norfolk, VA 23510).
