It is with sadness that the passing of Norman Hecht (Norfolk, Virginia) is shared. Norman, born on October 28, 1932, passed away on September 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mollie L. Hecht and Joseph L. Hecht; his pet Ringo; his former wife Gloria Hecht; his daughter Lynn Hecht; his granddaughter Naomi Hecht; and his siblings, Jerome Massey, Shirley Nagle and Doris Gordon.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry; his children, J. Randolph Hecht (Lori), J. Lawrence Hecht (Mai-Ellen) and Michele Cleland (David); his grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan (Rachel), Nathan (Jordan), Sydney and Elissa; his great grandchild Finnegan; his brothers-in-law, Stephen Caplan (Renee) and James Caplan (Randy); his stepchildren, Kevin Goldstein (Barbara), Micah Goldstein (Nikki) and Jodi Goldstein; and his stepgrandchildren, David, Daniel, Jack, Reid, Tyler, Rowen and Avi. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Norfolk Chapel (1501 Colonial Ave, Norfolk, VA 23517). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (8100 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Military Aviation Museum or to Ohef Sholom Temple.
