He was predeceased by: his parents, John Richard and Mary Elizabeth Tomlin Allen. He is survived by: his wife Linda Bartee Allen; his children, Richard Scott Allen and Stacey Elizabeth Allen (Jonathan Dudley); his granddaughter Kyleigh Cason; and his brother Randy Allen (Linda Allen). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
